Brooke Mulkins caught the entertainment bug early on in life, having found success as a child actor while appearing in numerous print ads and commercials. She took a break from life in front of the camera, however, and decided to focus on her education after a sports injury nearly killed her. With plans to attend law school, Brooke graduated magna cum laude with a pre-law degree, but ultimately her heart just wasn’t in law as the film bug bit once more.
In 2015, she left the east coast for Los Angeles and took up her position behind the camera. Finding her way into costume design, Brooke quickly realized that creating characters and shaping their story was where she excelled. She began writing independent feature films, eventually connecting with her frequent collaborator, Stephanie Moore, when Brooke decided it was time to bring her mother’s story to life in the form of a television series. Brooke now boasts several writing accolades such as finishing as a Finalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Script Contest and Second Rounder in the Austin Film Festival for her writing team’s “Fire with Fire,” and Top 100, Launch Pad Pilot Competition for “Marooned.” Moreover, her accolades have made Brooke an Endorsed Writer by Coverfly.
Independently, Brooke has won several awards such as Best Overall Western Feature Script at the Wild Bunch Film Festival and Best Suspense Western Feature at the Cowpokes Int'l Film Festival for her screenplay, "Among Snakes." Through her success, she has optioned various screenplays and is looking forward to the continued momentum with these projects as she is currently taking meetings with production companies, agents, and managers.
Outside of filmmaking, Brooke fuels her passions by reading select fantasy novels, exploring the world of Azeroth, playing tabletop RPGs, and listening to dramatic movie scores as a backdrop to her life.
